Las Vegas Raiders 66th Anniversary 2026 Advent Calendar

The Raiders were the eighth team added to the AFL in 1960, almost as an afterthought, and have since played in Oakland twice, Los Angeles once and Las Vegas now. Sixty-six seasons of that — silver and black the whole way through, whatever the postcode said.

Sixty-Six Seasons, Three Cities

Few franchises have moved as often and lost as little of themselves doing it. The colours never changed, the crest never changed, and the support followed across state lines twice. That is an unusual thing to be able to count sixty-six years of, and it is what the anniversary number stands for here.

What Is Behind the Doors

Twenty-four acrylic ornaments, one per window, held in a moulded plastic tray so nothing shifts in transit. Each measures 3.2 cm square, prints on both faces — matte one side, gloss the other — and carries a tab punched through the material for hanging.

The windows are die-cut, so a door opens under a thumbnail. Box dimensions are 13.5 x 18 x 3 cm at 135 g, and one face of each ornament ships under a protective film that needs peeling.

The Printed Name

Set a name at checkout and it appears in the front artwork as part of the design. Worth doing: silver and black is a household allegiance more often than a personal one, and a name settles whose calendar it is.

Through December

A dark palette does well against a lit backdrop, so a shelf with a lamp beats a windowsill. Keep it indoors and dry — desert air is fine for paper, but a bathroom or a kitchen full of steam is not.

Does the 66 count the Oakland and LA years?

It counts every season since 1960, wherever the club was playing. The franchise history runs unbroken through all three cities.

Will silver print show up on a dark ornament?

That is what the gloss face is for — it catches light where a matte surface would swallow it. Hang the glossy side outward in a dim room.

How many ornaments can one branch take?

Several. At a few grams each they are lighter than a glass bauble, so a single branch will hold five or six without bending.

What is the best way to store them?

Back in the moulded tray, in the box, somewhere dry. Loose in a decorations box is how tabs bend and printed faces scuff against each other.
