JDM Legends Christmas 2026 Advent Calendar

The cover reads like a scene from a racing film: a snowy Japanese street at night, red torii gates, glowing lanterns and Mount Fuji behind, with a line of legends rolling through. A red NSX leads, an orange Supra and a blue Skyline follow, and the vertical tag “日本の伝説” means “Japanese legends”.

Why JDM Cars Became Legends

The late 1980s and 1990s were a golden age for Japanese performance cars. The Nissan Skyline GT-R, Toyota Supra, Mazda RX-7, Honda NSX and Subaru Impreza raced, rallied and tuned their way into a generation’s imagination through video games, street racing films and the anime Initial D, where a humble AE86 Trueno beats far faster cars on mountain passes.

For years American fans could only admire them on screen. US rules generally keep cars built for other markets out until they are 25 years old, so the R32 Skyline GT-R only became eligible around 2014. Each year since, another wave of legends has crossed the line, which is why JDM nights at car meets keep growing.

What the Designs Cover

• Skylines: a classic “Hakosuka”, R32, R33 and R34 GT-Rs in grey, purple and blue, and a modern GT-R.
• Supras and RX-7s: the A70 and A80 Supras, the latest yellow Supra, and RX-7s in red and green.
• More icons: NSXs old and new, an AE86 in panda colours, a Silvia S15 and a blue Impreza.
• Tuning kit: a bronze wheel, a turbocharger, a bucket seat with harness, a rising-sun helmet and a tool chest.

Each window holds a flat acrylic ornament printed on both sides, although the photos render the cars like models. The layout with numbers presents the whole set and does not indicate what sits behind each window.

For the Car Meet Regular

Give it to the friend who knows every Skyline chassis code, the sim racer with a wheel rig, or the parent who still has a poster of an RX-7 in the loft. It also suits a younger fan who grew up on racing games and dreams of importing a GT-R.
