Georgia Bulldogs 135th Anniversary 2026 Advent Calendar

135 Seasons of Georgia Football

Georgia played its first football game in Athens against Mercer in January 1892, and a few weeks later travelled to Atlanta to face Auburn, the start of what is now called the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry. The 2026 season is the program’s 135th. The first mascot that winter was actually a goat in a black coat with red U.G. letters; the bulldog came later, and the Uga line, owned by the Seiler family of Savannah, has been on the sideline since 1956.

Along the way Georgia has won national championships in 1980, 2021 and 2022, and Sanford Stadium, with the privet hedges that gave the phrase “Between the Hedges”, became one of the most famous home fields in college football. A calendar marking 135 seasons is really a calendar about all of that.

Uga himself is treated like royalty. Each dog in the line lives with the Seiler family, attends home games in an air-conditioned doghouse on the sideline, and is laid to rest in a small mausoleum inside Sanford Stadium. Hairy Dawg, the costumed mascot in the number 1 jersey, keeps the student section moving. Both appear on this calendar, which is part of why it feels like Athens on game day.

Behind the Windows

The pieces mix bulldogs in holiday sweaters and Santa hats with Georgia game-day designs: helmets, footballs, jerseys, stockings and the stadium itself. The numbered photo is there to show the whole collection; it is not a guide to what you will find behind each window. Every piece is flat acrylic printed on both sides.

Standard and Premium Versions

Both versions hold 24 pieces, and each can be ordered as hanging ornaments (with a hole for hook or ribbon) or with a stand base:

• Standard: pieces about 3.2 × 3.2 cm; box 13.5 × 18 × 3 cm, 135 g.
• Premium: pieces 4.3 × 4.3 cm (square) or 4 × 5 cm (rectangular); box 28 × 19 × 5 cm.

The paper box has a moulded plastic tray and dotted die-cut windows. One face of each piece is matte, the other glossy; remove the protective film before use and wipe with a soft dry cloth.
