The Buffalo Trace Advent Calendar 2026 shows the snow-covered Frankfort distillery on a navy-and-gold box, with 24 windows to open one by one. The site dates its distilling to 1775 and took its name from an old buffalo trail across the Kentucky River. Treat yourself to the countdown, or gift it to a bourbon fan who already has the bottles.

For the person who has plenty of bourbon, here is a countdown that holds none. The Buffalo Trace Advent Calendar 2026 comes in a navy-and-gold box printed with a snow-covered distillery, and behind its 24 windows are ornaments to hang, not bottles.
The distillery on the box

Buffalo Trace Distillery stands in Frankfort, Kentucky, and is owned by the Sazerac Company. Records place distilling on the site in 1775, and the distillery says it is the oldest continuously operating in the United States. Its name comes from an ancient trail used by bison to cross the Kentucky River, and it took that name in 1999. The site became a National Historic Landmark in 2013.
The calendar’s artwork nods to that setting: a distillery beside a river and waterfall, evergreens, a sunset sky and a large buffalo, with “Good Bourbon Brighter Days” on the side panel.
What the ornaments show
The photos show bourbon-country designs such as a barrel, a bottle, a tasting glass, a copper mug, a lantern, a snow globe and a buffalo medallion. Each has a loop for hanging. The numbered overview picture lets you see the whole range at a glance; it does not say which one is behind which window.

Specifications
As a decorative advent calendar, it uses a paper outer box and a moulded plastic inner tray, in one size, at 13.5 x 18 x 3 cm in size and 135 g. The 24 ornaments are acrylic (mica) pieces, 3.2 x 3.2 cm each, with a perforated tab for hanging. Their double-sided print has a matte face and a glossy face, and die-cut dotted lines mark each day window.
Setting it up
Put it on a sideboard, desk or mantel at the start of December and open a window each day. Peel the film from the ornament and hang it on a small tree, a branch arrangement or a bar-cart garland. Glossy and matte faces catch candlelight differently, so you can choose which to show.
- Cleaning: a soft, dry cloth.
- Storing: keep the box and ornaments in a dry place.
Who it is for
It is a considered gift for a bourbon collector who already owns the bottles, for someone who enjoys the culture but not the drink, and for a household where the bar is part of Christmas. The navy-and-gold box also looks good on a gift table. For more themed ideas, explore our collection.
