Betty Boop 24 Days Christmas 2026 Advent Calendar

The Betty Boop 24 Days Christmas 2026 Advent Calendar dresses December in black, red and gold, with theatre curtains, a vintage city skyline and Betty herself winking in a red dress. The front promises “24 Days of Boop-Oop-a-Doop Surprises”, and each window opens onto an ornament to hang.

A flapper from the 1930s

Betty Boop was created at the Fleischer studio by Max Fleischer, with animator Grim Natwick drawing an early version. She first appeared in the 1930 cartoon Dizzy Dishes as part-dog, and within about a year had become the human, jazz-age flapper people still recognise. The character is a caricature of 1920s flapper style, and her short dress, big eyes and curls are the look this calendar leans on.

Her history is lively. Singer Helen Kane sued the studio in 1932, claiming Betty was based on her, and lost in 1934. That same year the Production Code took effect and Betty’s outfits became more modest. Recent years have kept her in the spotlight: the musical Boop! reached Broadway in 2025, and her earliest cartoons entered the public domain on 1 January 2026.

The retro look

The box mixes holly, snowflakes and a city backdrop with a classic car and a marquee-style “24 unique mini charms inside” banner. The photos show ornaments of Betty in different outfits, including a Santa suit, a sailor costume, a pink spa robe and a white dress, each hanging from a small loop.

A numbered overview picture shows the set as a whole. It is a preview, not an opening order.

Box and ornament facts

This is a 3D advent calendar in one size. A paper outer box that houses a moulded plastic tray hold 24 acrylic ornaments, also described as mica, every one 3.2 cm square with a perforated hanging tab. The box measures 13.5 x 18 x 3 cm in size and weighs 135 g. Each ornament is printed on both sides, matte on one and glossy on the other, and the day windows open at die-cut dotted lines.

How to enjoy it

Open one window a day and take out the ornament. Peel off the protective film before hanging. A garland, a small tabletop tree or a mirror frame all suit the retro theme, and a handful of ornaments grouped together read better than single pieces on a large tree.

• Cleaning: wipe only with a soft, dry cloth.
• Storage: keep the ornaments dry and flat in the tray after Christmas.
• Safety: decorative pieces, so keep them away from small children.

It is a natural present for classic-cartoon collectors and for anyone who loves a 1930s look at Christmas. For more nostalgic gifts, explore our collection.

Questions

Can I open all 24 windows at once?

You can, but the set is made for one window a day. Opening them early ends the countdown sooner.

Are the ornaments ready to hang?

Yes. Each has a perforated tab, and the protective film comes off before display.

Do all the ornaments show Betty alone?

The photos show Betty in several outfits. The numbered picture is only a preview, so what sits behind each window is left as a surprise.
