Golf 2026 Christmas Advent Calendar

December is the cruellest month for anyone who plays. The course is shut or waterlogged, the clubs are in the garage, and the closest thing to a round is watching somebody else putt on television. This calendar is built for exactly that gap: twenty-four small golf-shaped consolations, one a day, until the weather turns.

A Course in the Snow

Dark green base, gold and white display lettering, and a winter scene that gets the details right — a cart strung with decorations, evergreens along the fairway, a wreath, a red ribbon, and the flag left in the hole because nobody came to collect it. The side panel promises twenty-four days and twenty-four surprises without naming any of them.

What Comes in the Box

A paper outer box, 13.5 x 18 x 3 cm and 135 g, over a moulded plastic tray that holds twenty-four acrylic pieces in their own slots. Every window is die-cut, so a door opens under a thumbnail without tearing into the artwork beside it.

Each piece measures 3.2 x 3.2 cm and is printed on both faces — matte on one side, gloss on the other — with a hanging tab punched through the acrylic. A protective film covers one face on arrival and needs peeling before the piece goes anywhere near a hook.

Where to Run It

The shelf where the trophies are, the desk, the corner of the garage that has become a clubhouse, or the kitchen if the household is in on it. The pieces can go on a tree, a bare branch, or a length of twine along a shelf — and a golf-themed row of them is a better winter decoration than most things sold as one.

Looking After the Pieces

A soft dry cloth handles fingerprints; anything damp or abrasive leaves a haze on acrylic that will not polish out. When the countdown finishes, slot the pieces back into the moulded tray rather than tipping them into a decoration box — it keeps the tabs straight and the printed faces off each other.

Are there golf balls or tees inside?

No — the twenty-four pieces are flat acrylic ornaments on a golf theme rather than playing equipment. They are for hanging, not for the driving range.

Is this a calendar for the golfing season or the off-season?

The off-season, squarely. The artwork is a course under snow, which is the joke — it runs through the weeks when nobody is playing.

Would this work for someone who plays all year?

It works better for them, if anything. The joke is a snowed-in course, and it lands hardest with someone who would be out there if the light held.

Why is one face of each piece glossier?

Each ornament is printed matte on one side and gloss on the other, so you can turn it to suit where it hangs — gloss catches a lamp, matte holds up under a bright ceiling light.
