Ghost Dog Halloween 2026 Advent Calendar

Somebody in this house has put a hat on the dog. That is the whole premise, and it is enough: a pale ghost-dog under a black brim with an orange pumpkin tucked into the band, standing in a garden of lit jack-o’-lanterns while bats work the sky behind him. He looks entirely unbothered, which is the funniest part.

What the Artwork Gets Right

Halloween decorations usually pick a side — cute or frightening. This one sits on the line: candles and carved pumpkins and a haunted-garden night scene, with a dog in the middle of it who has clearly been dressed up against his better judgement. Distressed gold and orange lettering across the top, paw prints worked into the border, and enough purple in the palette to keep it from reading as a children’s product.

What Comes in the Box

Paper outer box, 13.5 x 18 x 3 cm, 135 g, over a moulded plastic tray that keeps twenty-four acrylic pieces in their own slots. Die-cut dotted lines outline every window, so a door comes up under a thumbnail without tearing the artwork beside it.

Each piece is 3.2 x 3.2 cm, printed on both faces — matte one side, gloss the other — with a hanging tab punched through the acrylic. One face carries a protective film from the factory; peel it before the piece goes on a hook.

Through October and Into December

The box is small enough for a hall table, a kitchen shelf or a desk. Open a door a day and the pieces need somewhere to go — a bare branch in a vase, a ribbon down a door frame, a row of hooks along a shelf edge. Twenty-four days in, the corner has decorated itself.

Keeping the Acrylic Clear

A soft dry cloth takes fingerprints off; damp cloths and kitchen sprays leave a permanent haze on acrylic, so keep them away from it. At the end of the season the moulded tray is the right home for the pieces — slotted back in place they cannot bend their tabs or scuff each other in a box of loose decorations.

Questions Buyers Ask

How big are the ornaments?

3.2 cm square — about the footprint of a large stamp. Small enough to hang several along one branch, large enough that the artwork on each is still readable across a room.

Can the doors be shut again?

No. The windows are die-cut and open once, which makes the box itself a single-season object. The twenty-four pieces are the part that comes back out next October.

Is this a Halloween calendar or a Christmas one?

The artwork is Halloween and the format is December. Plenty of people run it through the first twenty-four days of October instead — nothing about the box insists on a particular month.

Safe around an actual dog?

Hang them high enough to be out of reach. Acrylic is light and it will not splinter, but the punched tabs and small size make them exactly the sort of thing a curious dog will take an interest in.
