A funfair packed into a 13.5 cm box

Twenty-four acrylic ornaments behind numbered windows, each one a piece of the fairground: popcorn, cotton candy, balloons, rides, games, a teddy bear and prize stalls. Every ornament has a hanging tab fitted, so they go straight onto a tree.

Materials and measurements

• Paper outer box with a moulded plastic inner tray.
• 24 acrylic (mica) ornaments, one behind each numbered window.
• Box: 13.5 x 18 x 3 cm, 135 g.
• Each ornament: 3.2 x 3.2 cm, with a perforated hanging tab.
• Double-sided print: one matte face, one glossy face.
• Die-cut dotted lines on every window.

Peel the protective film off the glossy face before you hang an ornament, or the print looks cloudy. Wipe them with a soft dry cloth; do not soak them.

Why the theme travels

Most themed calendars only make sense to someone who already follows the subject. A funfair does not need explaining, which makes this one of the few themed countdowns that works as a gift for someone whose interests you do not know well.

Do the ornaments arrive ready to hang?

Yes. Each has a perforated hanging tab. Peel the film off the glossy face first.

Are all 24 ornaments different?

The set works through the fairground rather than repeating one graphic: food stalls, rides, games and prizes each get their own pieces.

Can the box be reused next year?

No. The windows tear open along die-cut lines, so the front panel is spent. The 24 ornaments are the part worth storing.

Are the ornaments safe near a child’s tree?

They are rigid acrylic with no small detachable parts, but at 3.2 cm they are a choking size for very young children. Hang them out of reach of toddlers.
