A Pennant 44 Years in the Making

The Brewers reached the World Series once before, in 1982, as an American League club. That team, nicknamed “Harvey’s Wallbangers” after manager Harvey Kuenn, took the St. Louis Cardinals to seven games and lost. In 1998 the franchise moved to the National League, and for the next 28 seasons the NL pennant stayed out of reach, through division titles, wild-card runs and a 2011 NLCS loss to those same Cardinals.

The 2026 club changed the ending. After beating the San Diego Padres three games to one in the Division Series, Milwaukee swept the Dodgers 4–0 and clinched on October 15 at Dodger Stadium, ending Los Angeles’ bid for a third straight championship. Jake Bauers was named NLCS MVP after hitting .412 with a home run and six RBI, the first NLCS MVP in Brewers history. Two weeks later the same team finished the job against Tampa Bay and won the franchise’s first World Series, which is why this ring carries a “World Series 2026” script on its side panel as well.
