New York Giants 101st Anniversary 2026 Advent Calendar

Tim Mara bought the New York franchise in 1925 for five hundred dollars, on the reasoning that an exclusive right to anything in New York was worth that much. A hundred and one seasons later the club is still in the family, which makes it one of the longest continuous ownerships in American sport.

Since 1925

The Giants were there for the 1958 title game that put professional football on national television, and for most of what followed. A hundred and one is an awkward number to celebrate — the round one was last year — but it is also the more honest one: the seasons keep counting whether or not there is a zero at the end.

Inside the Box

Twenty-four die-cut windows over a moulded plastic tray, with an acrylic ornament in each compartment. The pieces measure 3.2 cm square, carry a tab punched through the material, and are printed on both faces — one matte, one gloss.

The outer box is paper at 13.5 x 18 x 3 cm and 135 g. Each ornament arrives with a protective film on one face; take it off before hanging or the print stays flat underneath.

Set at checkout, printed into the front artwork at production. In a household where more than one person follows the team, it settles whose calendar it is before the first door opens.

Through December

Put it where it gets passed every morning rather than somewhere formal. The pieces accumulate on a branch, a ribbon or the tree, and by Christmas Eve the corner has decorated itself. Keep the box indoors and away from radiators.

What makes 1925 the starting year?

That is when the franchise was founded and played its first season in New York — five years after the league itself began.

Is this the same as the Halloween version?

Different artwork and different season. This is the Christmas edition with the personalised name panel; the Halloween one carries October imagery instead.

How many pieces can go on one tree?

All twenty-four comfortably. At a few grams each they hang from branches that would not take a glass bauble.

Can the ornaments be cleaned?

With a dry cloth. Damp cloths and sprays leave a haze on acrylic that does not come off, so keep water away from them entirely.
