New Orleans got its franchise on All Saints’ Day in 1966 and played its first season in 1967, which is how a football team ended up named after a hymn. Fifty-nine seasons later the connection between the club and the city is closer than almost anywhere else in the league — a relationship that was tested harder than most in 2005 and came back stronger.

Since 1967

The fleur-de-lis was on the city long before it was on a helmet, which is part of why the mark works so well — it belongs to New Orleans first and the team second. What You Open Each Morning

Twenty-four die-cut windows, each hiding an acrylic ornament 3.2 cm square with a tab punched clean through. Both faces carry print — one matte, one gloss — and a protective film covers one side until you take it off.

The ornaments sit in a moulded plastic tray inside a paper box of 13.5 x 18 x 3 cm, 135 g. The tray is worth keeping: it is what turns a one-season purchase into a set you can bring out for years.

Printed. The colour is in the acrylic print rather than a metallic foil, so there is no coating to flake off over the years.

How do I stop them sticking together in storage?

Can the box stand up on a narrow shelf?

Yes — it is only 3 cm deep and sits upright on its own, so a narrow ledge works as long as it is out of reach of steam.
