What Snoopy Adds to a Wall

Peanuts has always been better at ordinary life than at spectacle — a dog on a kennel roof, a bird who never quite gets a word in, the small business of getting through a week. That suits a planner better than anything more dramatic would. Each month gets its own seasonal illustration in cream, brown, red, yellow, blue and green, with the display lettering doing the cheerful work up top.

Paper, Binding and Size

The stock is extra-thick premium paper, chosen so a ballpoint or a felt tip does not ghost through onto the illustration behind it — the single most annoying failure in a cheap calendar. Printing is dye-sublimation, so the colours stay saturated rather than going chalky by summer.

It measures 27 x 21 cm and is bound with twin wire, which means pages turn a full 360 degrees and lie flat against the wall instead of bowing away from it. The binding also survives a year of being flipped, unlike a glued spine.

Living With It

Kitchen wall, home office, the side of a fridge if the hook will take it, the back of a study door. That is what the heavier stock is for. Ballpoint and fine felt tip both stay on their own page; a heavy marker will show through any calendar paper, this one included.

How big is it on the wall?

27 x 21 cm per page — compact rather than poster-sized, which is what lets it fit in the spaces a bigger calendar cannot.

Does it lie flat when hung?
