Starbucks Freddie The Dog Holiday Mug

This mug is hard to look at without smiling. A round golden puppy sits with his paws tucked in, a pink tongue peeking out and a red striped scarf around his neck. On top sits a red ribbed beanie with a white pom-pom and a Starbucks label, and the beanie lifts off to reveal the mug inside. A large curved handle sits at his back.

Why Holiday Cups Matter

Starbucks introduced its first holiday cups in 1997, and the red cup has since become an unofficial start to the Christmas season for millions of coffee drinkers. Holiday merchandise has become a collecting hobby of its own: in November 2025, the plush-topped Bearista cup sold out within hours and changed hands online for many times its price. A puppy mug in a red beanie belongs to that same tradition of cups people line up for and keep long after the season ends. Fill it with a Peppermint Mocha, a Starbucks holiday favourite since 2002, and the season feels complete.

How to Use It

Use it for coffee, hot chocolate or tea, and put the beanie back on to keep the drink warm a little longer and the dust off when it is on display. Hand wash gently to protect the painted details.
